David A. Price, MD, grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and received his undergraduate education at Northwestern University studying Industrial Engineering as well as Advanced Math in the Social Sciences. He worked in management consulting for two years in Chicago, Illinois at Bain & Company before returning to Indianapolis to earn his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internship year at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana and his ophthalmology residency at Indiana University. He completed his cornea fellowship at Price Vision Group. With an interest in clinical research and advanced skills in mathematical calculations and data analysis.

As a trail-blazer in ophthalmology, Dr. David Price has authored or co-authored 18 peer-reviewed articles to date published in major ophthalmology journals, presented at national eye meetings 11 times, annually created continuing education lectures attended by hundreds of optometrists, and annually lectured for the ophthalmology residents at Indiana University on advanced cornea care and refractive surgery.

If he wasn’t an ophthalmologist, Dr. Price would likely be a teacher, because of the special memories and advice his teachers instilled in him, and the impact on lives great teachers can have.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing strategy games and team sports such as ultimate frisbee. A former 11th grade state champion in chess, Dr. Price is no longer as competitive as he used to be, but still enjoys an occasional relaxed game.
